Introduction to Outreach

Our congregation reflects the rich diversity that is Jewish life in America today. A significant number of our members are in interfaith marriages, are Jews-by-Choice, have children who have intermarried, or were raised by interfaith parents. Many of our couples who are not interfaith may still deal with interfaith issues in their extended families as they are planning Life Cycle events. And it’s hard to find a Jew who doesn’t face questions of Jewish identity during the holiday season. Our Outreach Program offers support to all of our congregants and enables them to enrich their relationship with Judaism and the Jewish people.

Temple Emanu-El Outreach Committee Mission Statement:

May this synagogue be, for all who enter,
the doorway to a richer and more meaningful life.

Temple Emanu-El actively welcomes interfaith couples, families and individuals seeking to become closer to the Jewish people. Our Outreach Committee creates opportunities for the exploration of Judaism. We support individuals and families who are seeking to strengthen their connection to Judaism. The Committee works to educate the Temple community about the unique blessings and challenges encountered by interfaith families and individuals who have converted or are in the process of conversion.
