Defiant Requiem: Verdi at Terezín

Experience the power of music as spiritual resistance in this concert drama about the performance of the Verdi Requiem by Jewish prisoners at Theresienstadt Concentration Camp (Terazín) during World War II. Presented on Yom HaShoah and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Terazín, this Dallas premiere features video and testimony by Terezin choir members and conductor Rafael Schächter.

The production is conducted by Temple member Ben Loeb, narrated by Defiant Requiem Foundation founder Murry Sidlin and Cantor Vicky Glikin, and features the Temple Emanu-El Choir, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, and guest soloists Allison Charney, Scott Conner, Eleni Matos and Bruce Sledge, with participation by Cantors Leslie Niren and Hallie Weiner.
