Youth Learning + Engagement

9th-12th Grade

In 9th through 12th Grades (Confirmation and Teen Emanu-El) teens experience Judaism on their terms!

Teen Emanu-El is for students in 9th through 12th grades. It is a meaningful and engaging teens-only experience in which students explore their Judaism while building relationships with one another. It’s a whole new way to experience Judaism.

9th and 10th grade teens are invited to participate in our pre-Confirmation and Confirmation experience. Teens attend Sunday mornings, from 9:30 a.m. to noon! Register now!

Guiding Principles:

  1. Jewish ethical teachings and values can inform our thinking, decisions and actions.
  2. Judaism is relevant to all that we do in our everyday lives.
  3. A deep sense of relationship and community, reinforced in a teens-only space, connects our
teens to Judaism and the Jewish community.

Plus: Every Sunday that Youth Learning + Engagement is in session a complimentary, a teens-only lunch will be available from noon to 1:15 p.m.  Be sure to drop in and check it out!

Additional Opportunities:

Madrichim Program: Madrichim, teen counselors, play a very important role in Temple Emanu-El’s Youth Learning + Engagement Sunday morning program, helping to guide students through interest-based Judaic experiences, providing teachers an extra set of eyes and hands to support effective teaching and learning, bringing youthful energy in the classroom, and serving as friendly and approachable Jewish teen role-models.

Open to 11th and 12th Graders for pay or community service hours.

Summer Experiences: Summer is the best time to be a teen! Check out some of the amazing opportunities from our partners and learn how this summer will be the best summer of your life!
