Repair the world
"Justice, justice shall you pursue."
Deuteronomy 16:20
Tikkun Olam means “repair of the world.” It encompasses all of our responsibilities as Jews to bring the world closer to God’s vision of wholeness and perfection.
Today, Tikkun Olam is identified with working for social justice, peace, freedom, equality and the restoration of the environment.
Throughout our history, Temple Emanu-El has served as a voice of conscience in the Dallas community. With social justice as one of our core values, congregants of all ages participate in projects that reach out to those in need. Tikkun Olam/Repairing the World is at the heart of everything we do as Jews.
